Bleary moment between waking and waking up. Your eyes wander to the window, and you half-see the vivaciously pretty curtain covering it. Your mind stirs. The curtain's vibrant print of paisleys, blooms, and designs, dappled with black outlines of teapots and cups, comes into focus, and you're transported a few months back to when you traveled through the Indian state of Kerala. Your mind's eye conjures up breathtaking images of hills crashing against the sky like waves, covered in verdant tea plants, and your taste buds recall the rich flavor of the milk tea you sipped out of a cup cradled in your hands on the sepia-soaked porch of the tea plantation store. It's probably no coincidence that these thoughts come to mind when you're looking at something that was hand silk-screened in India, and the thought pulls your out of your stupor with a smile. Later on at work, as you take your packed lunch out of the matching bag the curtain came in, those warm thoughts return, buoying you up for the second part of your day.
