1943 New Year's Eve Coat

It was my grandmother's fabulous vintage party dresses - which my aunt is currently holding hostage - that ignited my love for retro style. On Christmas Eve of 2006, a DVD of reformatted 40's film footage found its way onto my family's TV. I got to witness my grandparents dance the night away on New Years Eve in 1943! At the end of their evening, just before my grandma left on the arm of my grandfather, she tossed on a fantastic fur collar coat. When I saw the beautiful, double-breasted, inky black beauty featured here, I recognized all the elegance of that gorgeous garment from the 40's.
