Sample exercises include making a tongue painting, leaf-pressing, and playing journal golf, encouraging readers not to take life too seriously while simultaneously taking seriously the need for fun.

I'm a book nerd. No, really, I am. I've spent hours in various school libraries just fixing shelves; seeing a book destroyed hurts me at a base level. That being said, this book is the worst thing I could ever have done to myself. I've stabbed holes, torn strips, and even (this was hardest for me) broke the spine. I'm in the process of figuring out how to wear it, internally monologuing on the designated pages, and for some reason it's under the impression that I'm going to take it in the shower. This journal goes against everything I ever believed about caring for books, and it's absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend it :)

Hi Allyssa! As a fellow book nerd, I can completely understand your feelings about destroying books. I imagine I would have just as difficult of a time trying to rip a book to pieces, but it sounds like you're still having a great time doing it! Thanks so much for sharing with us. :)

I just got this for Christmas, and I am having so much fun with it. It is very freeing to just mess up the pages, or put food on them. It makes you feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders.
