Yes, this with a simple pair of black slacks, and you are making a wonderful first imppression!
I think that you should keep the shorter length because it's more versatile that way. If it was longer, you could only wear it with leggings because it would be too long with jeans or shorts. I like it exactly the way it is!
This is too boxy, maybe would be ok with a belt.
