Practical Yoke Top

This shirt, though is very cute and well-made, fits a bit awkwardly. I ordered a Large, which usually fits me extremely well according to Modcloth sizes, but this shirt just barely made the cut. It is soft and fits fairly loosely, but if my hips were any bigger, the shirt would not fit correctly. The buttons do not button all the way down, so if you do have hips, it pulls the bottom apart making it look like the shirt does not fit whereas, if the shirt did button to the bottom, it would look just fine, though the fit might be a bit tight. To accomodate this, I took the spare button, sewed it onto the shirt at the bottom where the next button would go, and sewed a button hole. Now, the shirt looks good but, again, just BARELY. Because of this, I would order a size up unless you are pretty slim. If there was another size up, I would have ordered an XL but, luckily, it all worked out in my favor. Oh, just a quick point- I styled the shirt a little differently. Rather than tie the belt at my natural waist, I let the shirt hang loosely, buttoned it all the way up, and tied the belt around my neck in a bow. It has a much more Victorian-feel to it this way (and the picture demonstrates this). Thanks!

I was so hoping to love this shirt, but unfortunately I had to send it back. Just not right on me. The fabric was a great quality and felt sofft. It just fit weird on me and exchanging it wasn't going to help. I can't quite put my finger on what exactly was wrong with it but it just made me look old and frumpy.
