Free as a Bird Blouse

I tend to be a pretty rational person, but that doesn't mean I'm not downright silly sometimes. In fact, I'm seldom more joyful than when I let this ridiculousness run rampant. I tend to be a pretty rational person, but that doesn't mean I'm not downright silly sometimes. In fact, I'm seldom more joyful than when I let this ridiculousness run rampant. I've been known to cavort down crosswalks in what I hope to be ballet-worthy bounds, and stand atop benches shouting, in my best Monty Pythonish, "Halt, who goes there?" at passing strangers. But let's forget such whimsy acts. This is work. I must be serious. Yes, serious and staid, polite and poised.  And, I must talk about this blouse. This blouse is made of a floaty white chiffon, quite the color of freshly washed linens, and is dappled in furious flocks of soaring veridian creatures of the avian variety. It has a retro shape, with slight princess sleeve puckering, a lusciously tied neckline, and domed gold buttons which shine like highly polished ormolu - all of which make me adore this blouse like I adore French pastries and dancing and love and happiness and - oh, sorry. I forgot I was being serious here. Right. So. Thanks to its unusual print and rich color scheme, this top will look great layered over a white cami that is, in turn, tucked into a grey pencil skirt and matched to sensibly unusual Mary Janes. Or, try pairing it with skinnies and flats, or shorts, gold leggings, and boots, or just about anything really, because it's shirts like these that are so fabulous that you just want to wear them all the time! Yes, it's shirts like these that make the world go round, and the flowers bloom, and the economy stay afloat, and, and - ahem. Apologies.
